AYURVEDA

What is Ayurveda?

In Sanskrit it means "the science of life", where Ayu means life and Veda means knowledge, science.

It is a philosophy of prevention and cure that guides the individual to return to his original energetic balance and reestablish the harmony of his body. In this way, by being in balance, one stays healthy. And this balance extends to nature and to other beings. After all, Ayurveda believes that each individual's energy is connected to the whole, to the universe, and to the natural cycles of life.

Literature indicates that Ayurveda originated in India more than 5,000 years ago. Therefore, it is considered one of the oldest health systems in the world.

How does Ayurvedic medicine work?

In Ayurveda, each being is unique and has an exclusive and original energy code. Thus, when there are situations that hinder the flow of this energy, there is an imbalance and an accumulation of toxins in the body, triggering health problems and diseases.

The Doshas

Each Dosha is formed by a combination of two elements and associated with a certain principle.

• Vata Dosha: is the combination of space (or ether) and air, connected to movement. In the body, it is related to excretory functions and the nervous system.

• Pitta Dosha: formed by fire and water, it is associated with metabolism and digestive functions.

• Kapha Dosha: water and earth are the elements of Kapha, representing structure. Therefore it is related to the structural and lubricating functions of the body.
